Mount Pilatus ‘Golden Roundtrip’ Tour from Zurich

A unique excursion to Central Switzerland. You will travel by coach over the lovely Albis Pass (792 m) and along Lake of the Four Cantons to Lucerne. Short city tour with the main sights of Lucerne: The Lion Monument, the famous wooden Chapel Bridge, the Jesuit Church, the Town Hall, the Congress and Concert Hall. Afterwards enjoy approximately one hour at leisure (great strolling and shopping in the car-free Old Town).

The journey continues to Kriens, from where you take a ride with the panoramic gondolas and aerial cableway to Mount Pilatus (7000 ft/2132 m) the forbidden mountain in the Middle Ages. From here you will enjoy an unforgettable view over the surrounding mountains and lakes. Don’t miss the Dragon’s Path, the short hike to the summit and enjoy a Swiss specialty on the terrace of the peak restaurant (optional). Descent on the world’s steepest cogwheel railway (48% gradient) to Alpnachstad, followed by a lovely boat ride on the picturesque Lake Lucerne.

During the tour you can choose to ride on the longest Toboggan Run in Switzerland (4500 ft/1.4 km). If you would like to take the ride, an additional fee is payable directly to the guide. It’s great fun!

Cog-wheel train and boat ride start operating around May 10, depending on the snow conditions. You will be given a Swiss Cheese Raclette or Pilatus Rosti (potato dish) instead of the boat ride. Before that time, the Mt. Pilatus tour operates the same way as in winter - aerial cable car up and down.
